Join us for this exciting canoe and camping slow adventure where you can see the true beauty of Cavan’s lakes and landscapes. Paddle through peaceful lakes and ancient crannogs. Take this chance to visit the historic Clough Oughter Castle.
Itinerary
Saturday
● Meet at the Cavan Adventure Centre at 1pm – leave your camping supplies here.
● Start your journey from Killeshandra Town Lake Strand at 2pm.
● Paddle from Killeshandra to Killykeen Forest Park for a short break, then
● Continue to the historic Clough Oughter Castle for a brief visit and rest.
● Arrive back at Cavan Adventure Centre at 7pm to pitch up your tent to camp for the night. (Limited tents available on request; bring your own blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc.) Access to showers and toilet facilities.
● 8pm Enjoy a well deserved delicious BBQ dinner as you unwind from the day’s adventure.
Sunday
● Start your day at 8am with a tasty hearty Irish breakfast.
● 10am Continue your slow adventure with a paddle from the Cavan Adventure Centre to Belturbet Marina with a break en route.
● Finish up your journey in Belturbet at 2pm.
